Lanzarote is the easternmost Canary Island, and the place where you'll find stunning landscapes mixed with perfect resorts and a superb nightlife. Oh, and don't forget those sumptuous beaches! As with many of the canaries, the island's beaches are all blessed with crystal-clear waters, but some have dazzling white sand while others are darkly volcanic. And while most are calm and relaxing others have some very powerful waves making them perfect for anyone looking for a spot of surfing or windsurfing.
Cheap holidays in Lanzarote are centred around the superb resorts, none of which are of the ugly, high rise style. A nice breeze keeps all of its beaches from getting too hot or muggy in the hottest months, meaning that you can enjoy the sun and sand for as long as you want without feeling like you're cooking! Some of the best beaches are those at Puerto del Carmen and the slightly more low key resorts of Playa de los Pocillos and Matagorda. Any bargain Lanzarote holiday will be able to offer fantastic nightlife, but Puerto del Carmen is perhaps the liveliest of all the resorts Or, if you fancy something a little less obvious, then Arrecife is a small, friendly and downright pleasany little place centred on a quaint harbour.
Another key feature of any discounted holiday in Lanzarote is the number of excursions and trips you can take from your resort. There's the famous Timanfaya National Park, for example, where volcanic landscapes dominate, but where you'll also find amazing wildlife and pleasant walks. Or how about a tour around some stunning lava caves at Cuerva de los Verdes and Los Jameos del Agua? Or what about a cactus garden? You definitely don't get many of those at home! Then there's some traditional and very welcoming whitewashed villages such as Tias and Yaiza, which feature unique local bars and amazing places to eat. And if all that's not enough, how about some boat trips to the island of Fuerteventura?
If you're looking for a cheap family package holiday to Lanazrote, then you can rest assured that your kids will have all the fun in the world. There's the Rancho Texas theme park near Puerto del Carmen, and a massive water park at Costa Teguise, for example. And that's just for starters. Whichever resort you choose, you'll also find lots of more low key facilities and activities that they'll absolutely love.
